FTP Settings

If required, Call Recording files can be sent to the recipient via File Transfer Protocol (FTP) or Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP).

The FTP Settings menu is available in the Accounts screen (accessed via the Home drop-down menu) and allows you to populate FTP/SFTP settings for your own account, if your Service Provider has enabled the FTP permission. If you have FTP permission enabled on your account you will also have the option to pass the permission onto any sub accounts beneath you - you can do this by enabling the 'FTP Access' option under the Permissions tab in the Settings menu for the relevant sub-account:

The FTP Settings option accessed through the left-hand in the Accounts screen allows you to configure one set of FTP settings per account and these will be used to FTP call recordings for any numbers under your account where you have specified 'FTP' or 'FTP & Email' as the delivery method:

By clicking the 'Enable FTP Settings' checked box the following settings screen will load:

The Protocol drop-down allows you to choose between FTP and SFTP, if SFTP is selected then you will also need to choose a 'Logon Type' from the drop-down - the choices available are 'Normal' or 'Interactive':

Once you have entered all your details, click and the platform will then validate your FTP/SFTP settings by logging into the FTP server and uploading a text file. You won't be able to save your FTP settings unless these work and the platform has write permission to the path specified.

Alerts

If the platform has problems connecting to your FTP server or any errors uploading files, it will retry up to 5 times until that file is skipped.

If the platform has 10 concurrent failures to your account then it will be suspended for 15 minutes.

If you have entered any email addresses into the Email Alerts field a notification email will then be sent from [email protected] to those email addresses with the last error message received from your FTP server.

Once the 15 minutes has expired the platform will then try to upload the oldest queued file, if this is successful then the platform will upload the rest, if not, then your account will be suspended again for 15 minutes, this process is repeated every 15 minutes. For your information the alert email will contain the following details:
